New release available: 2024-02-06 "Kaos". upgrade now! [55] (what's this?)
campaigns:stota:session_12_-_9-11-2016_-_the_trade_and_tower

[20:01] <GWRD> As the new rays of sunlight shine upon the land, you take a moment to reflect upon what you've learned recently. This haggard town seems to be full of degenerates and is starting to fall apart at the outskirts.
[20:02] * TolBot is now known as Ptolamir
[20:02] <GWRD> Farmlands lie vacant, while businesses of the flesh thrive with the bounds of the town. A tower stands in the center of the town, tilted and worn by the passage of time.
[20:04] <GWRD> Rumors in the town tell of a maiden who lives in the tower, and rarely emerges in search of new ore for whatever is created within. It is believed one of her minions is due to make an appearance soon.
[20:05] <GWRD> As the group arises to the morning light sneaking through the cracks of Animal's wagon, Tindai awakens in his comfortable bed, surrounded by the scent of candles and strong perfumes.
[20:05] <GWRD> As this session begins.
[20:06] * Tindai_Edo stretches and dons his equipment and looks around
[20:06] * Dragoon_Kevoyan groans as the first light strikes his closed eyes.
[20:06] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Gods…I miss moose urine.”
[20:07] * Animal begins checking over her equipment and stowing what needs stowed.
[20:07] <GWRD> Tindai your room is small, and sparce, with the exception of some candles on a table, a chamber pot, and a small shelf to store items, which is presently empty.
[20:08] <Tindai_Edo> (do I have my items? or are they gone? lol)
[20:09] <GWRD> (All with you)
[20:09] * Dragoon_Kevoyan tries to sit up…then rolls over and sits upright. With bleary eyes, he checks his musket.
[20:10] * Tindai_Edo looks around the room a bit more, looking for nothing really, but looking none-the-less.
[20:10] * Animal gets up near Kevoyan waits for him to be finished with his musket then says very loudly. “You need to learn to hold your liqour”
[20:11] * Ptolamir wakes up and rubs his back.
[20:11] <GWRD> The room is kept clean enough, though not emmaculate. Nothing seems out of the ordinary, by cursory glance.
[20:11] * Garun chuckles and says something in dwarven
[20:12] * Dragoon_Kevoyan winces
[20:12] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “I normally do – then again, the publican here more than likely doesn't water down the ale.”
[20:12] * Tindai_Edo exits the room after he double checks his gear
[20:13] * Animal smirks and goes back to tieing down her gear.
[20:14] <GWRD> The common room has a few stragglers leaving after spending the night, but is otherwise quiet. One of the younger ladies looks over at you, a bucket of foamy water in hand.
[20:14] <GWRD> Girl:“Are you done with your lady sir?”
[20:14] * Dragoon_Kevoyan grabs the rest of his gear. “Should I drag our friend out, or wait until he runs out of money?”
[20:15] <Tindai_Edo> “I had not a lady, Miss, but a night of rest,” he smiles at her.
[20:16] <GWRD> She looks slightly confused. Girl:“Oh, um… my apologies sir. Are you done with the room?”
[20:17] <Tindai_Edo> “Indeed I am, but if I stay again, I may have to have you join me,” he winks at her as he passes.
[20:18] <GWRD> She blushes slightly and rushes into the room to clean it.
[20:18] <GWRD> Outside, a small bazaar has started to form up around the tower, with a small number of peddlers hawking their wares.
[20:19] * Dragoon_Kevoyan looks at teh bazzar.
[20:19] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Animal…mind if I store my musket here and poke around there?”
[20:20] <Animal> “Sure” And she shows him where to put it so that it will be secure and safe.
[20:20] * Tindai_Edo looks around the bazaar, seeing if any has anything of worth, and may have the funds to releive him of some of his extra gear
[20:22] <GWRD> Tindai outside of the shop, you see Animal's wagon waiting for you with your companions.
[20:22] <GWRD> Several of the merchants are hawking “Authentic weapons and trinkets from the tower maiden herself, along with rare baubles from far away lands.
[20:23] * Garun strols over to the merchants to take a look at the wares
[20:23] * Ptolamir glances at the brothel building and shrugs.
[20:23] * Tindai_Edo waves at those in the wagon as he walks by, “Need to resupply.”
[20:23] * Dragoon_Kevoyan tucks the musket and power box away, but takes hi dagger with him.
[20:24] <GWRD> A few people actually approach the wagon, a new oddity in town.
[20:24] * Dragoon_Kevoyan pokes around, looking at the trinkets from “The Tower Maiden” herself.
[20:24] * Animal stands on the top of her wagon, an axe in each hand, looking as meanacing as possible.
[20:24] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (whistle if you want me back)
[20:25] <GWRD> Random man: “Geez, I guess you're shop isn't open yet. No need to get crazy lady.”
[20:25] <GWRD> The men back off and head for another stall.
[20:25] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (No, get crazy)
[20:26] * Tindai_Edo looks to sell Lux's old Breastplate (+1) and the Quick Runner's Shirt.
[20:26] * Dragoon_Kevoyan looks for something to give to Animal as a token of appreciation.
[20:26] <GWRD> The shop keepers generally have mundane weapons and trinkets they are trying to pass off as exceptional. Only a couple look like they can swing the coin to afford anything more valuable.
[20:27] * Tindai_Edo pays attention to those with more coin (are these the ones that say they have the stuff from the tower maiden?)
[20:27] <GWRD> (Most of them say that.)
[20:28] <GWRD> The first stall keeper motions you over.
[20:28] <Animal> (most of them are just full of shit i'm assuming)
[20:28] * Tindai_Edo walks over to the man
[20:28] <GWRD> Shopkeeper: “You, you there. You look like a man of fine tastes in blades and wares. Do I have the item for you.”
[20:28] <GWRD> (Yes)
[20:29] <Tindai_Edo> “Show me what you got.”
[20:29] <GWRD> He pulls out a red velvet wrapped item, that looks like it contains a sword. He unfolds the fabric to reveal a long sword of somewhat impressive make.
[20:30] <Tindai_Edo> “May I?” he holds out his hands to examine the weapon
[20:30] <Tindai_Edo> (I do have the appraise skill btw)
[20:30] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Looking for something for a lady friend. Something small.”:
[20:30] <GWRD> He eyes you momentarily to size you up, then hands you the blade. The weight and balance is good in your hands, and the blade does seem to be of quality make.
[20:31] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (“Thanks.” *thunk*)
[20:31] <GWRD> Kevoyan's Shopkeeper: “Ah, how about this bone and jade hair piece.
[20:31] <Garun> (if the sword starts talking to you take it as a great sign)
[20:31] * Tindai_Edo gives it a swing or two, then hands it back
[20:32] <GWRD> Tindai's Shopkeeper: “You like it, yes I can tell. Let us settle on a price.”
[20:33] <Tindai_Edo> “A Good Blade, has a good story, what is its?”
[20:33] * Dragoon_Kevoyan looks at it, then looks to Animal.
[20:34] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “How much?”
[20:35] <GWRD> Tindai's Shopkeeper: “Ah yes, the story. This blade comes from the tower itself, yes it does. They say the creature that came from the tower to sell it was no girl, but a creature crafted of flesh and dark magic. The townpeople of the time killed the creature and took the blade, and it passed many hands before coming to my stall.”
[20:35] <GWRD> Kevoyan's Shopkeeper: “For such a piece, I could not part with it for less than 12 pieces of gold.”
[20:36] <Tindai_Edo> (Sense Motive I guess? since I don't think there is an Insight check lol)
[20:36] <Tindai_Edo> (isn't…)
[20:36] <GWRD> (Sense motive is appropriate)
[20:36] <Tindai_Edo> 1d20+4
[20:36] <Tindai_Edo> (no bot… XD)
[20:36] * Ptolamir shoulders his pack and steps over safely behind the others, watching the bartering.
[20:36] <GWRD> (Somebody scared off Tolbot)
[20:37] * PK (Overlord@sorcery-5in6pe.cpe.metrocast.net) has joined #grovewood
[20:37] <Tindai_Edo> 1d20+4
[20:37] <PK> Tindai_Edo throws the numbered heads of dead players (1d20+4) and gets 8.
[20:37] <Garun> (uh oh)
[20:37] <PK> >:)
[20:37] <Tindai_Edo> (…)
[20:37] <Tindai_Edo> (its alright, I love you too PK)
[20:37] * @Tolman (Tol@sorcery-2unmot.dyn.grandenetworks.net) Quit (Client exited)
[20:37] * Dragoon_Kevoyan takes out 12 pieces of gold and hands it to the man, then hands him another one. “For your discretion.”
[20:37] <GWRD> The story of the sword seems legit to you, or at least not too far fetched to be at least mostly true.
[20:38] <Tindai_Edo> “How much?”
[20:38] * Ptolamir (TolBot@sorcery-2unmot.dyn.grandenetworks.net) Quit (Client exited)
[20:38] * TolBot (TolBot@sorcery-2unmot.dyn.grandenetworks.net) has joined #grovewood
[20:38] * Tolman (Tol@sorcery-2unmot.dyn.grandenetworks.net) has joined #grovewood
[20:38] * ChanServ sets mode: +o Tolman
[20:38] * TolBot eyes Tolman
[20:38] <GWRD> The shopkeeper winks knowingly at Kevoyan and puts his finger to his lips.
[20:38] <@Tolman> `dice off
[20:38] <TolBot> Dice function turned off. Use the command 'on' to resume dice functions.
[20:38] * PK eyes TolBot
[20:38] * TolBot smirks.
[20:38] * PK (Overlord@sorcery-5in6pe.cpe.metrocast.net) Quit (Quit: Leaving)
[20:38] * TolBot starts to say something to PK
[20:38] <@Tolman> `dice on
[20:38] <TolBot> Dice functions turned on. Use the command 'off' to cease dice functions.
[20:38] * Tolman is now known as Ptolamir
[20:39] <Ptolamir> (not really sure what happened. hehe)
[20:39] <GWRD> Tindai's Shopkeeper: “For such a magnificent piece, no less than 500 gold pieces.”
[20:40] * Dragoon_Kevoyan winks and slips it into his cossack pocket.
[20:40] <Tindai_Edo> “Alas, that is out of my budget, friend.”
[20:41] <GWRD> Tindai's Shopkeeper: “I of course understand. You need a budget for the ladies of the brothel you came out of. Azeke knows this, and will accept barter if the object is right.”
[20:42] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> *snort*
[20:42] <Tindai_Edo> “And, I'm am not in the market for a new blade as mine are suitable for my needs,” he pats Shiho and Meiyo, “but am selling some armor I no longer require.”
[20:42] * Dragoon_Kevoyan wanders back to the cart.
[20:43] <GWRD> Tindai's Shopkeeper: “Armor you say, what armor do you wish to sell?”
[20:43] * Tindai_Edo pulls out the Breastplate +1, and the Quick Runner's shirt
[20:43] <GWRD> 1d20
[20:43] <TolBot> <[GWRD's 1d20(4)]: 4
[20:43] <GWRD> 1d20
[20:43] <TolBot> <[GWRD's 1d20(10)]: 10
[20:44] <GWRD> He seems to dismiss the shirt as nothing more than a regular shirt.
[20:44] * Tindai_Edo shoves the shirt back in his bag of holding
[20:46] <GWRD> Tindai's Shopkeeper: “Hmm this breastplate would need to be resized to fit anybody of note. The owner appears to have suffered an eating problem. These dings here would have to be removed, and the whole armor would need to be cleaned of the smell. I can offer you 200 gold coins for it.”
[20:47] * Ptolamir smiles.
[20:47] * Dragoon_Kevoyan nods to Animal as he approaches.
[20:48] <Tindai_Edo> (can I appraise it myself so I have a haggling point? Since I don't know its +1 lol)
[20:48] <GWRD> (You may)
[20:49] <Animal> “So…were they all full of crap or did you find anything worth anything?” she asks Kevoyan as he comes back.
[20:49] <Tindai_Edo> 1d20+1 Appraise
[20:49] <TolBot> Tindai_Edo's 1d20(19)+1 'Appraise']: 20
[20:49] <GWRD> (You appraise it's worth new around 350. Street value would be about 175.)
[20:49] * Dragoon_Kevoyan reaches into his pocket and takes out the hair bauble. “For your services.”
[20:50] <Tindai_Edo> “350, it belong to a friend, who died honorably in combat.”
[20:50] * Ptolamir steps forward and looks ait over too.
[20:50] <Ptolamir> 1d20+4 appraise
[20:50] <TolBot> Ptolamir's 1d20(16)+4 'appraise']: 20
[20:50] <GWRD> (Same Ptolamir)
[20:51] <GWRD> Tindai's Shopkeeper: “I can not even begin to consider that, with the amount of damage it has taken, and the reworking that would have to go into it.”
[20:51] * Ptolamir whispers to Tind, “That sounds about right”
[20:52] <Ptolamir> “But to a reseller, you’re not gonna get more than half of that”
[20:52] <Ptolamir> (“and in the PHB, is says you usually can only sell items for half value”)
[20:52] <Ptolamir> ( :) )
[20:53] <GWRD> Tindai's Shopkeeper: “200 gold pieces is a fair offer for a fair man.”
[20:53] * Animal takes the bobble and smiles “Thank you!” She takes the time to secure several of her braids with it. “Now maybe they won't fall in my face.”
[20:53] <GWRD> He trails on the word “fair”.
[20:53] * Ptolamir turns and keeps walking.
[20:54] * Tindai_Edo he ponders, “Fine, Fine. . . 200 will be fine, I had to try you know.”
[20:54] * Dragoon_Kevoyan nods in salute.
[20:54] <Garun> (so now that everyone is bartering with the man can i do a sense motives on him or whats the check to see how much he is ripping them off?)
[20:54] <GWRD> Tindai's Shopkeeper: “Of course, none would fault you for being such a shrewd business man of skill.”
[20:54] <GWRD> (You may)
[20:55] <Garun> 1d20+9
[20:55] <TolBot> [Garun's 1d20(11)+9]: 20
[20:55] <GWRD> (Though you aren't exactly with Tindai so your DC will be higher)
[20:56] * Tindai_Edo hands the breastplate over.
[20:57] <GWRD> The shopkeeper puts a bag of coins on a scale and then a small brick with the number 200 on it, then removes a few coins before they match up as even.
[20:58] <GWRD> He then hands you the bag with a smile.
[20:58] <GWRD> Tindai's Shopkeeper: “It was a pleasure doing business with you my friend.”
[20:58] * Tindai_Edo counts the gold regardless.
[21:00] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Should I remain here if there are any…problems?”
[21:01] <GWRD> It takes you several minutes to count the coins, and the shopkeeper seems insulted as you do so.
[21:01] <Animal> “None so far. But you are certianly welcome to stay and wait if you are done at the market.”
[21:02] <Tindai_Edo> “I'm sorry, but I do not trust scales and weights, where I am from it is an insult to use them, as they are often short, as you seem to be.”
[21:02] <GWRD> Tindai's Shopkeeper: “What do you mean short?”
[21:02] <GWRD> He requests to count the coins himself.
[21:02] <Tindai_Edo> “There is only 198 here.”
[21:03] <Tindai_Edo> “By all means.”
[21:03] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “I should save some money…if only to confuse others.”
[21:03] <GWRD> He counts the coins himself, and when it comes up short he offers many apologies and pays you the missing difference, plus 1 for the insult.
[21:03] <Animal> “That is probably wise.”
[21:04] <Tindai_Edo> “Thank you friend,” he flips the extra gold back, “Do you know when the tower maidens serveant will make its apperance again?”
[21:05] <GWRD> He looks to his left and to his right. “Those who track these things know that the day will be today, which is why the market is so full today.”
[21:06] <Tindai_Edo> “Good Good, Pleasure doing business with you,” he gathers his gold and stows it, then heads back to the wagon
[21:07] * Dragoon_Kevoyan takes out his musket and powder box, shouldering them and checking his boyonet and dagger.
[21:09] <Tindai_Edo> “The towers Serveant will be making an apperance today.”
[21:11] * Ptolamir walks up beside.
[21:11] * Dragoon_Kevoyan looks at Ptol, and nods.
[21:11] <Ptolamir> “So, our plan is to use this ore to barter to get in?”
[21:13] <Tindai_Edo> “I beleive so.”
[21:15] <GWRD> (Doing anything or waiting for the door to open?)
[21:17] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (waiting for the door so far. The ladies will have to wait for my gentle touch…)
[21:18] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (also…brb)
[21:20] <GWRD> Close to mid-day the door to the tower slowly begins to creak open, as the crowds around the tower buzz with excitement.
[21:21] * Tindai_Edo stands attently, watching the tower door
[21:22] <Ptolamir> “I think another option may be to sneak or force our way in when the tower door opens as this construct returns home?”
[21:23] <GWRD> The crowds start to form around the door, keeping a slight distance from it, as a creature made entirely of wood emerges from the door first. The creature is vaguely man shaped, made from cast off pieces of wood.
[21:24] <Tindai_Edo> “From what they said inside, its not locked, but corrupt, for lack of better words on the inside, our best bet may be to request an audience through her servant.”
[21:25] <GWRD> A few of the vagabonds surrounding the tower try to rush it, and the creature pummels one man to a pulp as another slips by in the distraction. His screams can be heard echoing from the door moments later.
[21:25] <Animal> “I don't think we want to sneak or force our way in.”
[21:25] <Garun> (so there goes that plan)
[21:27] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Looks like we'll have to rely on our charms. Gods help us all.”
[21:27] * Tindai_Edo walks up slowly, “Hail, Servant of the Tower Maiden. Could we kindly request an audience with your Master?”
[21:30] <GWRD> As you approach, the wooden creature stares ahead silently, while a second figure, small in size wearing a hooded cloak pulled fast over the face, and small gloved hands emerge. It carries a long spear sized far too large for itself in one hand, and a blade in a fine looking scabbard in another.
[21:31] * Tindai_Edo glances at the newcomer, “Perhaps this one would hear our plea for an Audience.”
[21:32] * Dragoon_Kevoyan takes note of the newcomer, unshouldering his musket.
[21:32] <GWRD> The small person holds up the spear and people begin shouting what they have to offer in return. “Fine silks, rare herbs, magical reagents, enchanted armor”
[21:33] <GWRD> The figure begins to look around at the offerings.
[21:33] <Animal> (back, sorry)
[21:34] * Tindai_Edo makes sure he's in clear view of the newcomer, and stares hard, “A word, and perhaps some trade this day.”
[21:35] <GWRD> The newcomer ignores Tindai instead looking to Azeke and the breastplate he offers.
[21:35] * Animal holds up a single piece of cold iron, just to see what the reaction might be.
[21:36] <GWRD> 1d20
[21:36] <TolBot> <[GWRD's 1d20(17)]: 17
[21:36] <GWRD> The figure pauses and looks over towards Animal.
[21:36] <Garun> (who had that shirt?)
[21:36] <Animal> (Tindai)
[21:36] <Tindai_Edo> (I have it)
[21:37] <GWRD> It then moves on to look at a merchant with several pieces of raw iron
[21:37] * Animal laughs and puts the piece of cold iron away.
[21:38] <Garun> (maybe it needs a new shirt)
[21:38] <GWRD> The merchant's pile of ore seems more substantial than the single piece you offer.
[21:38] <GWRD> It points to the merchant's ore, and then drops the spear at the merchant's feet. The wooden creature approaches and takes the ore and the bag it was presented in.
[21:39] <Animal> (is there a roll i can make to see if that person is the lady in disguise?)
[21:39] <GWRD> The newcomer then holds up the scabbarded sword.
[21:39] <GWRD> (You can try perception)
[21:39] <Animal> 1d20+6
[21:39] <TolBot> Animal's 1d20(19)+6]: 25
[21:40] * Tindai_Edo shouts, “Hear me, serveant of the tower. We beg audience with your master, we have goods to trade, but prefere it to be face to face as we are new to these lands,” he pulls out the quick runner's shirt, just to see if it gets there attention at the least.
[21:40] <GWRD> It is hard to see any detail, except for the few times the figure raises its head slightly to look at something. You see little needle like teeth in its mouth.
[21:41] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (Time to shoot)
[21:41] <GWRD> People continue to hawk their wares, some of them pulling out more ore to try to top the merchant who got the spear.
[21:42] <GWRD> They drown out Tindai or the creature does not seem to notice or care… it is hard to tell in this mob.
[21:43] * Animal arches a brow and leans over to Kevoyan “Is the lady of this place supposed to have needle like teeth?”
[21:44] * Tindai_Edo shoves the shirt back in, and pulls out Diplomacy (+1 Bastard Sword)
[21:44] <GWRD> The merchant Azeke once more presents the breastplate, along with a single piece of strange ore, which catches the newcomer's attention.
[21:45] <GWRD> The creature of wood however turns hostily towards Tindai.
[21:45] <Tindai_Edo> (I'm holding it non-threateningly)
[21:47] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “I hope not. That's going to ruin most of my fantasies.”
[21:47] <GWRD> It raises a fist and stops, staring blankly at you with its blank wooden face.
[21:47] * Dragoon_Kevoyan starts loading his musket.
[21:48] * Tindai_Edo eyes the construct, “Your master. An Audience.”
[21:49] <GWRD> The newcomer peers in the direction of the wooden man and Tindai before Azeke draws her attention back with the piece of ore.
[21:49] <Garun> (one of the times we should play an evil party, just to see what kind of mayham we could create)
[21:50] * Animal tries to get a better look at the ore Azeke is offering to see if she can figure out what it is without moving away from her cart.
[21:50] <GWRD> (Appraisal or Craft:<something metal based> check)
[21:50] <Animal> (does crafting weapons count?)
[21:51] <Garun> (i haveappraise precious metals/gems but dies doesnt seem to qualify as precious)
[21:52] <Garun> (* this)
[21:52] <GWRD> (Yes)
[21:52] <Animal> 1d20+15
[21:52] <TolBot> Animal's 1d20(12)+15]: 27
[21:52] * Tindai_Edo puts Diplomacy away, and walks over to Azeke, too get a look at what he's offering himself as he can't seem to keep the beasts attention without it getting hostile
[21:52] <GWRD> The ore looks like fire-forged steel, but maybe a pound or less.
[21:52] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (What's this 'we', white man?)
[21:53] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (brb…sigh…)
[21:54] <GWRD> Azeke: “Yes, your mistress would like this stone, make something nice out of it.”
[21:54] * Ptolamir lowers his hands.
[21:54] * Animal mutters as she looks at the piece.
[21:54] <GWRD> The newcomer seems interested, and looks around one last time for any other offers.
[21:54] * Tindai_Edo holds up his Quiver of 20 Cold-Iron Arrows
[21:55] * Dragoon_Kevoyan watches the crowd for anyone showing more than a healthy interest.
[21:55] <GWRD> The entire crowd shows quite a healthy interest in what's going on.
[21:55] * Tindai_Edo also walks around trying to get a better view inside of the door
[21:57] <GWRD> The newcomer accepts the offer of the stone and armor, laying the sword at Azeke's feet.
[21:58] * Ptolamir watches.
[21:59] <GWRD> From what little you can see inside the door, you see a man lying dead on the ground, his flesh burned from his body. Aside from that, you see several suits of armor and a large gong in the center of the tower.
[21:59] <GWRD> The newcomer and the wooden creature then depart back for the tower.
[22:00] * Tindai_Edo walks back to the front of the crowd, putting his quiver away, and shouts once again, “We request an audience with the master of the tower.”
[22:01] <GWRD> The small newcomer does not seem to hear you, or acknowledge you as it enters the tower, the wooden creature following behind.
[22:03] * Tindai_Edo sighs
[22:03] <Tindai_Edo> “What good are servants if they can't carry messages that could result in trade agreements.”
[22:03] <GWRD> The door to the tower closes behind them, as the crowd begins to part.
[22:06] <Ptolamir> “Looks rough inside.“
[22:06] * Tindai_Edo walks up to the door in frustration, and checks if its locked
[22:08] <GWRD> There is a lock on the tower door, but when you push upon the door, it opens slightly with a loud creeking.
[22:09] * Tindai_Edo backs away
[22:09] * Dragoon_Kevoyan shoulders his musket, ready to fire
[22:10] <GWRD> Nothing happens, though you have caught the attention of a few outside of the tower.
[22:10] * Tindai_Edo walks over to the others, “You know, there is a gong inside the room, maybe we should open the door and hit it with something?” he laughs.
[22:10] * Garun lokos at Tindai “How often do they open the door?”
[22:11] * Tindai_Edo looks at Garun and shrugs
[22:11] <Tindai_Edo> “One of the merchants would probably know.”
[22:11] * Dragoon_Kevoyan lowers the musket
[22:12] * Garun looks around for Azeke
[22:13] <Animal> “If you find him, ask him if he has any more of that ore he sold the servant” she calls after Garun.
[22:14] <GWRD> Azeke appears to be heading back to his stall, with a rather happy look on his face.
[22:15] * Garun approaches Azeke and asks him about the next time the door is supposed to open
[22:15] * Dragoon_Kevoyan walks up to the door.
[22:18] <GWRD> Azeke: “I do not know my friend.” He smiles, as two men in the crowd seem to move to either side of you. “Now if you will excuse me.”
[22:18] * Dragoon_Kevoyan looks around it to see if there is some sort of bell.
[22:20] <Garun> “Well i guess we will have to wait then
[22:20] <Garun> “
[22:20] <GWRD> There is no bell to ring, or door knocker to knock. All there is, is a well weathered thick wooden door, slightly ajar.
[22:22] <Tindai_Edo> (Does the door open In or Out)
[22:22] <GWRD> (in)
[22:24] * Tindai_Edo walks back up to the tower door, and slowly pushes it open, being careful not to enter the tower itself (just enough so the gong can be seen)
[22:24] <GWRD> Crrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkkk
[22:25] * Dragoon_Kevoyan raises his musket.
[22:26] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Greetings?”
[22:27] <GWRD> The first floor of the tower opens up into a large circular room with a flat wall on the opposite end. Several suits of well crafted armor line the walls, like a museum. In the center of the room stands a solitary gong with a small hammer leaning against one of the posts that supports it.
[22:27] * Garun returns to others and watches Tindai(Ave Imperator morituri te salutant)
[22:27] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (snicker)
[22:27] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Ring the gong?”
[22:27] <GWRD> The man's body has filled the air with an arid burnt smell, and has disrupted a slight layer of dust that blankets the floor.
[22:27] * Ptolamir peers in.
[22:28] * Tindai_Edo pulls his bow from his back, and an arrow, and takes aim at the gong
[22:28] <GWRD> Outside several people watch nervously.
[22:28] <Ptolamir> (two strangers are flanking Garun?
[22:29] <Garun> (those two still with me after i walked away from merchant?)
[22:29] * Tindai_Edo looks to the others, tension on the string, “Shall I knock?”
[22:29] <GWRD> (they broke off when Garun left Azeke alone)
[22:32] * Tindai_Edo lets the arrow fly, ready to spring off to the side of the door
[22:32] * Dragoon_Kevoyan kneels for a steadier aim
[22:33] <Tindai_Edo> 1d20+9 tohit if needed
[22:33] <TolBot> Tindai_Edo's 1d20(11)+9 'tohit if needed']: 20
[22:33] <GWRD> (Roll to hit, and damage if you hit AC 10)
[22:33] <Tindai_Edo> 1d8
[22:33] <TolBot> Tindai_Edo's 1d8(3)]: 3
[22:34] <GWRD> 1d20-2
[22:34] <TolBot> <[GWRD's 1d20(5)-2]: 3
[22:34] <Garun> (shooting a gong?)
[22:34] <Tindai_Edo> (yes, because I'm not walking into that tower after said dude got ravished by flame lol)
[22:34] <Ptolamir> (sure… what could go wrong)
[22:35] <Garun> (well that dude was hot for teacher… or maiden,,)
[22:35] <GWRD> The gong thrums with a sharp metal on metal clang, before it starts to ripple. The 5 suits of armor in the room begin to move.
[22:35] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Figures.”
[22:35] <Tindai_Edo> “Hello beautiful, is it play time?” he puts his bow away, and draws his blades
[22:36] <GWRD> Four of the suits advance towards the door, while the last one advances towards the gong.
[22:36] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (aiming for the one on the gong)
[22:37] <GWRD> (You all may act before the suits of armor)
[22:38] <Garun> (pull the door closed, maybe they dont know how to handle doors)
[22:38] <GWRD> (If that's what you are going to do, then do it, otherwise no metagaming please)
[22:38] * Ptolamir backs away.
[22:39] * Dragoon_Kevoyan aims for the leg of the one approaching the armor.
[22:39] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “FIRE!”
[22:39] * Tindai_Edo just grins ready to hack himself up some armor suits
[22:39] * Dragoon_Kevoyan pulls the trigger.
[22:39] <GWRD> (Roll to hit and damage)
[22:39] * Garun gets closer to the door waiting outside
[22:39] <Tindai_Edo> (Ute! Ute!)
[22:40] <Animal> (through dangers untold, and hardships unnumbered…)
[22:40] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (dang it…)
[22:41] <Animal> (what?)
[22:41] <GWRD> (I think he forgot how to use his gun.)
[22:41] <Animal> (aah)
[22:41] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (Why isn't anything coming out? Let me look down the barrel)
[22:42] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> wrong character sheet. for some odd reason, the one I saved doesn't have the gun info)
[22:42] <GWRD> The suits of armor reach the door, as the 5th suit slams the gong with the mallet, letting loose a loud crashing sound that echoes throughout the chamber, as the other 4 close the door.
[22:43] * Dragoon_Kevoyan raises his weapon up
[22:43] <GWRD> (Will Saves from all)
[22:43] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (*sigh*)
[22:44] <Ptolamir> 1d20+7 will
[22:44] <TolBot> Ptolamir's 1d20(3)+7 'will']: 10
[22:44] <Ptolamir> (that’s a “won’t” save, not a will save)
[22:44] <Tindai_Edo> 2#1d20+2 (Using Resolute, taking the better result)
[22:44] <TolBot> Tindai_Edo's 1d20(14)+2 '(Using Resolute, taking the better result)']: 16
[22:44] <TolBot> Tindai_Edo's 1d20(20)+2 '(Using Resolute, taking the better result)']: 22 (Nailed it!)
[22:44] <Animal> 1d20+4
[22:44] <TolBot> Animal's 1d20(5)+4]: 9
[22:45] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> 1d20+6 Will save
[22:45] <TolBot> Dragoon_Kevoyan's 1d20(9)+6 'Will save']: 15
[22:45] <GWRD> (Where is everybody in relation to the tower?)
[22:46] <Tindai_Edo> (right outside the door)
[22:46] <GWRD> 1d20 for Garun
[22:46] <TolBot> <[GWRD's 1d20(7) 'for Garun']: 7
[22:47] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> right outside, infr ont of Tindai
[22:47] <Animal> (i'm back a bit with my wagon)
[22:48] <GWRD> Everything goes silent, as the door closing muffles the resonance of the gong.
[22:48] * Garun_Degiron (ThEeYe@sorcery-e1esk2.cable.rogers.com) has joined #grovewood
[22:48] * TolBot eyes Garun_Degiron
[22:48] <GWRD> (he lives)
[22:48] <Garun_Degiron> (test)
[22:48] <Garun_Degiron> (oh well what did i miss?)
[22:48] <Tindai_Edo> (the tower ate you in your absence)
[22:48] <GWRD> (A will save, and a request to know where you are in relation to the tower)
[22:49] <Garun_Degiron> 1d20+3 will( if you still need )
[22:49] <TolBot> Garun_Degiron's 1d20(14)+3 'will( if you still need )']: 17
[22:49] <Garun_Degiron> (and i am flankin the door)
[22:49] * Garun (ThEeYe@sorcery-e1esk2.cable.rogers.com) Quit (Ping timeout: 121 seconds)
[22:49] * TolBot seems relieved that Garun is gone
[22:50] <Garun_Degiron> (if this is fear effect i have +2 on it as well)
[22:51] <GWRD> (What are you all doing now?)
[22:51] <Ptolamir> (i am waiting for you to tell me any consequences of the will fail)
[22:52] <Tindai_Edo> (watching them close the door, ready to engage should the try to engage us)
[22:52] <GWRD> (There appears to be none at the moment)
[22:52] <Garun_Degiron> ( i am holding steady outside waiting for the fools to pull back)
[22:52] * Ptolamir stares at the door.
[22:52] <Ptolamir> (there are some inside?)
[22:53] <Tindai_Edo> (I beleive we're all outside)
[22:53] <GWRD> It dawns upon you that this tower seems to have more defenses than you originally expected. All of your party remain safe, having not gone inside, though the experience was interesting.
[22:53] <Ptolamir> “I do not think that accomplished anything.”
[22:53] <Garun_Degiron> (what are the armor suits doing?)
[22:54] <Tindai_Edo> “We did, we learned that the tower is defended, yet unlocked. It's a trial, one that we will have to overcome.”
[22:54] * Ptolamir nods.
[22:54] <GWRD> (They are on the other side of the now closed door. One of them did hit the gong however)
[22:54] <Ptolamir> “What then, if we squandered any goodwill, though.”
[22:54] * Ptolamir shrugs.
[22:55] * Tindai_Edo gives his head a good shake, “Hmph.”
[22:57] * Dragoon_Kevoyan stands up.
[22:58] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “YOU DARE TO ATTACK MY TOWER! This intrusion shall not go unpunished!”
[22:58] <Garun_Degiron> (umm)
[22:59] * Dragoon_Kevoyan drops the musket, raises his hands and begins to make several passes. His eyes rolling into the back of his head
[22:59] * Tindai_Edo looks at Dragoon “Hey man… Not your tower, but if you're the maiden in my friends head… your minions wouldn't give you our request for an audience, but now that we got your attention, may we have one?” he laughs, “Probably not.”
[23:00] * Ptolamir shakes his head.
[23:00] <GWRD> (Spellcraft, DC: 18)
[23:00] * Garun_Degiron looks at Dragoon
[23:01] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Smert' vas suk”
[23:02] <Tindai_Edo> (Eh? who you want to roll?)
[23:02] <GWRD> (Anybody who has it)
[23:02] <Garun_Degiron> “Get a grip on yourself my man, this is not your tower and we didnt attack it”
[23:02] <GWRD> There is a popping sound, like air entering a jar that has been vacuum sealed as Kevoyan vanishes.
[23:02] <GWRD> Game over
