[20:28] <GWRD> Last we met, our band of unlikely allies decided to take on the temple and its residents, suspecting them of evil doings on their own grounds.
[20:29] <GWRD> Approaching the inner gate, Tindai decided to hop over the wall to open the door, falling ungracefully on the other side. It was there the rest of you heard the sounds of combat, a thud, then silence. You then heard multiple creatures aheading away from the gate, in the direction of the guest house you were permitted to stay at one night.
[20:30] <GWRD> Kevoyan decided to hop up on the wall next, where he encountered 3 creatures reeking of death and decay, brushing the grave soil from their bodies. He put a bullet into the head of one of them, before escaping back down your side of the wall.
[20:31] <GWRD> He discussed the creatures with the group, as the creatures withdrew back… or that's what it sounded like at least.
[20:31] <GWRD> As this session comes to a start.
[20:32] * Dragoon_Kevoyan guides everyone else away from the gate to where the horses are, positioning himself to look at the gate and the others with their backs to it.
[20:33] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “There are three of those foul things. Now, one of them has a bullet in it's head…so that's a start. I didn't see our odd friend, but I don't hear him either, so we are to assume he is dead and beyond our help. With me so far?”
[20:34] * Dragoon_Kevoyan looks to the others, waiting for some response.
[20:34] <Animal> “I think so, but what do we do now?”
[20:35] <Ptolamir> “Is Tindai dead to us?”
[20:35] <Garun_Degiron> “How do we get in? is over the wall the best way?”
[20:35] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “I have a plan…“
[20:35] * Dragoon_Kevoyan turns to Ptolamir.
[20:35] * Ptolamir look over.
[20:35] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Do you have a spell that can cast a mist or a fog over an area?”
[20:36] <Garun_Degiron> ( ptol scorching this place from orbit is not a plan)
[20:36] <Ptolamir> (“uh, let me look on my sheet. hehe”)
[20:37] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Also – do you have a spell that could burst open those wooden doors?”

[20:38] * Garun_Degiron eyes the doors and then his Axe
[20:39] <GWRD> The gate is thick, and the wood looks heavy. Surely you could break through with your axe, but it would take a solid day or two to get through.
[20:40] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “My plan is to feint those things to think we're coming through the gate, then go behind them and take shelter.”
[20:40] <Ptolamir> (sorry, was talking to fam)
[20:40] <Animal> “But what about Tindai?”
[20:41] * Garun_Degiron grinns thinking of a glorious day chopping up the door then shakes his head
[20:41] <Ptolamir> “Yes, I can fill an area with smoke.”
[20:42] <Ptolamir> “The door, less so.”
[20:43] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Can you do anything to it?”
[20:43] <Ptolamir> “I can blast it with fireballs, but that would spend me for the day.“
[20:46] * Dragoon_Kevoyan nods. “All right…let me think of a plan B.”
[20:46] * Dragoon_Kevoyan looks at the gate.
[20:46] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (open in or out?)
[20:46] <Garun_Degiron> ” if they are gone maybe we can open the gate from the other side now!“
[20:47] <GWRD> (Out towards you)
[20:47] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “They could be lying in wait for us.”
[20:48] <Animal> “We have six horses and a camel.”
[20:48] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “How much rope do we have?”
[20:48] * Dragoon_Kevoyan turns back to Ptolamir.
[20:48] <GWRD> (Note: While it opens out, it does not offer convenient handles on your side)
[20:48] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “How fast can you cast those fireballs?”
[20:48] <Ptolamir> “My rope is about 50ft”
[20:49] <Animal> “And i have 50 feet as well. But, how do we hook it to the fense?”
[20:49] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “I have a grappling hook on mine.”
[20:50] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (How far are we from the gate right now?)
[20:50] <GWRD> (However far you would like to be)
[20:51] <Garun_Degiron> (on the other side of it?)
[20:52] <GWRD> (Sure, just climb over the gate…one at a time, like good PCs)
[20:52] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (with those things too scared of our prowess to do anything?)
[20:53] * Dragoon_Kevoyan takes out his rope and lays the grappling hook end down and unspools it to get to the end.
[20:53] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Who here is a sailor or a marine?”
[20:54] <Garun_Degiron> (how wide is the wall, could one climb up and just chill on top of it like humpty dumpty?)
[20:54] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Or who can at least tie a strong knot?”
[20:54] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (I did that, but those things climb walls)
[20:55] <Ptolamir> (and it’s very narrow up top)
[20:55] <GWRD> (The top of the wall is about 2 feet thick, and does not offer much room for balance or support.
[20:57] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (If it were easy to sit up there, I'd just pick them off)
[20:59] * Dragoon_Kevoyan looks from one to the other.
[20:59] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Fine - I'll knot it myself. The other rope, please.”
[20:59] <Garun_Degiron> “Well in either case we should o over the wall as a group, easier to deffend that way.”
[21:00] * Animal gets out her rope and hands it to Dragoon.
[21:00] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “That is what we are getting ready to do.”
[21:00] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Thank you, Animal.”
[21:01] * Dragoon_Kevoyan takes the two ends and knots them tightly.
[21:01] <GWRD> You make preparations by tying the two ends of the ropes together.

[21:02] <Animal> “There is also Tindai's horse” Animal begins yoking all the horses together.
[21:04] <GWRD> You get all the horses together in preparation of using them to force the doors open (I assume)

[21:04] <GWRD> (The bar being on the opposite side of the wall.)
[21:05] <Garun_Degiron> (did anyone just try to open the gate… maybe its unlocked)
[21:05] <Animal> (hense the grappling hook and rope, or am i not on the same page as everyone else?)

[21:05] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (You're on my page, that's all that matters)
[21:06] <Ptolamir> “Can we not just hop over and quickly unbar the gate?”
[21:06] <Animal> “That is what Tindai was going to do. And what Dragoon tried.”
[21:06] <Ptolamir> “How many creatures were there, Dragoon?”
[21:07] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Three. one of them now has a speech impediment.”
[21:07] <Ptolamir> “Could we distract them a bit away from the gate, first?”
[21:09] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “I could go back to a different wall and shoot them, then you're going to have to either get inside and blast them with the spell and run the chance of me getting caught in the blast.”
[21:13] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “How precise are those fireballs? Our engineers used them as siege weapons…or on siege weapons, depending on which side you were on.”
[21:14] <Ptolamir> “Hmm… not what I would call precise.”
[21:14] <Ptolamir> “I can shoot a ray of fire, though.”
[21:15] <Animal> “So we aren't going to try to remove the bar from the gate with the grappling hook and the horses?”
[21:15] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Good – we can use that, then. I would much rather die in the arms of a lovely woman rather than being burnt alive any day.”
[21:16] <Ptolamir> “I say we let me cause a distraction a distance away, then one of you attemp to unbar the gate.“
[21:16] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (Is there a gap in the gate wide enough for me to try to direct the hook to the bar?”
[21:17] <GWRD> (No, there is a gap of an inch or two at the bottom, but the gates overlap so there is no peep hole.
[21:18] * Dragoon_Kevoyan looks back at the gate.
[21:18] <GWRD> (Stare too long at the gate, and the gate stares back at you)
[21:18] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “The gates overlap, otherwise every mule with a bar and a dream would get through the gate. We're going to have to tear it down the old fashioned way.”
[21:19] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (I poke the gate with my two fingers, nyuk-nyuk-nyuk)
[21:21] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Good news, they're going to be predictable and see what's with the gate. When they show up,”Keyovan pats Ptolamir on the shoulder“Our friend here is going to fire a fireball and get at least one. I'll shoot the others and hopefully, all we need is mop-up duty.”
[21:23] <GWRD> You get into position to enact Kevoyan's master plan. The walls await, as does the gate, silent as the grave.
[21:24] * Ptolamir moves off ready to fireball once the gate opens.
[21:24] * Animal gets ready to guide the horses on Dragoon's word.
[21:24] * Dragoon_Kevoyan takes the graapling hook end of the rope and tosses it over the top of the gate and pulls it tight.
[21:26] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (is it secure enough?)
[21:26] <Ptolamir> “Drag, you can stand in the fire… it will not hurt you, if it comes to that.“
[21:26] * Garun_Degiron prepares to spit the skull of the first undead thing that shows its ugly mug
[21:27] <Animal> “Are we ready?”
[21:28] * Garun_Degiron grumbles
[21:28] * Dragoon_Kevoyan nods and points to Animal
[21:28] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Let's re-introduce ourselves.”
[21:28] * Animal gives the horses the command to begin.
[21:28] <GWRD> It takes a few throws to catch the bar, but you feel something pulling against the rope after you catch it on the gate.
[21:29] * Ptolamir watches intently.
[21:29] <Garun_Degiron> (watch it pull an undead up to top of gate by its belt)
[21:29] * Dragoon_Kevoyan takes a knee next to Ptolamir and loads his musket
[21:29] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (snicker)
[21:30] <GWRD> (What are you doing regarding the rope?)
[21:30] <Animal> (it's lashed to the horses who are now moving away from the gate)
[21:31] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (Either the gate cmes down, or the bar is lifted up for us to open. Whichever way it goes, we're going in…)
[21:31] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (brb again…dang it)
[21:32] <GWRD> There is a thud on the opposite side of the gate, as if a heavy wooden object hit the ground, as the grappling hook comes free and pops over the gate. The rope by the grappling hook has obvious gnaw marks.
[21:34] <Garun_Degiron> (savages eating rope… dont they know how expesive it is)
[21:35] * Animal will stop the horses when the rope goes slack.
[21:37] * Dragoon_Kevoyan scrambles for the rope and drags it back quickly.
[21:37] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “Might have popped the bar loose and…what the hell?”
[21:38] * Animal puts the horses back in their respective places while the guys think up what's next.
[21:38] <Garun_Degiron> “
[21:39] <Garun_Degiron> “Should we try to open the gate?”
[21:39] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> “I'll open it. Ptolamir – be ready with the spells. Don't be afraid to hit me if it'll get them.
[21:39] * Ptolamir nods, at the ready.
[21:40] * Dragoon_Kevoyan secures his bayonet and walk up to the gate.
[21:40] * Dragoon_Kevoyan pauses and smells for them
[21:40] <GWRD> There is a faint stink of death and corruption coming from the other side of the gate.
[21:41] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (am I within arm's reach of the gate?)
[21:41] <GWRD> (Yeah, because you walked up to the gate to sniff them out)
[21:42] * Dragoon_Kevoyan pulls the gate open and dances back with his musket ready to shoot, stab or smack)
[21:43] <Garun_Degiron> ( i would like to rage)
[21:43] <GWRD> (Ok)
[21:43] <Garun_Degiron> (lol wrong game and its not thursday)
[21:44] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (I read that in Travis's voice)
[21:44] <GWRD> You slowly pry the gate open, using all the strength you can muster…and that's when the stink hits you like a wave.

[22:57] <GWRD> The trail of blood leads to a set of double doors on the north side of the training yards. The door is firmly shut at the moment.

[22:58] * Garun_Degiron looks around for any cracks or windows he could look in through
[22:58] <GWRD> The temple lacks windows, though there is a small gap under the door.
[22:59] <Dragoon_Kevoyan> (Any light coming from the door?)
[22:59] <Garun_Degiron> (well good think i am dwrf and already short enough to look under the door)
[23:03] <GWRD> Underneath the door, there is no light, though it looks like the floor is made of a solid sheet of stone, unmarred by any breaks.
[23:04] * Dragoon_Kevoyan walks up to the door and gently tries the handle

[23:05] <GWRD> The handle yields to your touch, opening up into a 10' wide hallway that goes back 40 feet before turning to the right. 5 doors fill the room, 3 on the left, and 2 on the right. A trail of blood leads to the first door on the left.

[23:11] * Garun_Degiron looks at all the other doors to see if any of them are barred from the outside
