[20:33] <GM_Tol> The regional city of Können is Jalem, where the Prefect (like a governor) of Können resides as a capital city. The region is all a part of a larger empire, whose capital is to the north and east
[20:33] <GM_Tol> We begin in the city of Jalem
[20:34] <GM_Tol> It is a large, capital city, with walled divisions between upper and lower levels.

[20:39] * Cadomedd is small, barely looking old enough to be away from this mother's skirts for any length of time. Skin, bones and dirty tattered clothing – he's faceless among the throngs of street rats in any large city. It's his eyes that catch the observer. They take in details, disassembling every fact and tucking them away while maintaining a flat, emotionless aspect to any person looking into
[20:39] * Cadomedd them. Person, animal or furniture, they all seem to be held in equal regard. His ink stained fingers always move, touching one tip to the other in a frenetic dance. There is a slight smell to him, one that is immune to repeated washings: the stench of decay.
[20:39] * Crichton sits amongs the roofs in the lower quater of the city, Shaded from the sun and chomping down on an apple as he watches the streets below. ( IM batman)

[20:41] * Shaddow wasn't much more than a blur of black against the sun as she danced from rooftop to rooftop as she made her way to the spot where Shalkan was resting. Her head bobbed lightly to some unknown rhythem as she crouched finally beside Shalkan and snitched an apple from his robes to munch on.

[20:48] * Crichton would likely be sharing a living area in the lower city with his sister, not quite a squaller but not too much better than what was around as not to stand out. Thieves in the area likely knew of the team himself and his sister had formed not long ago as well as the vigalanty like name they were making from the seedy shadows of the city.

[20:51] <GM_Tol> If you’re new in town, living in the inn, you have been in Jalem at least a week. Can be more if you like.
[20:53] <GM_Tol> The majority of the city residents live in the “Small Homes” sections in the northern part of the city. Some others in the more well-to-do southern section.
[20:54] <GM_Tol> The landscape of the city is dominated by the high walls, the Prefect’s Palace (G), and the hilltop temple on the eastern side.
[20:55] Sentagur A middle aged man in well worn but clean peasant garb is wondering the streets taking in the wonders of the civilization, In spite of being in awe of the tall buildings and the chaos of the city he steps nimbly through the crowds on his way back to the inn at which he is staying .

[20:55] <GM_Tol> The game session will begin with all players making there way to the Open Market, for a reason of your choosing.
[20:56] <GM_Tol> * And now begins session one of Können Land— Turning Point *
[20:57] <GM_Tol> It is late morning as the sun rises, eliminating the cool weather of the morning.
[20:57] * Cadomedd wanders around, looking for a teacher, someone needing lessons or something to go with the bread that's currently warming in his hands.
[20:57] * Karyndel goes shopping with her mother.
[20:58] * Warbudgie looks for someone to trade with
[20:59] <GM_Tol> The booths and small shops of the open market are not the busiest you’ve seen, but trade is happening as always.
[21:00] * Cadomedd scratches the back of his head…considering if just yelling for a teacher would be faster.
[21:00] <Sentagur> (can i go to the market to sell the last few herbs i brought with me?)
[21:00] <GM_Tol> (kinda waiting on everyone to ‘enter’ the game with an emote or action)
[21:00] <GM_Tol> (yep)
[21:01] Magestar heads to the open market to deliver a commissioned lute.
[21:01] <Crichton> ( sorry, conversing with my twin sister )
[21:01] <GM_Tol> An herb dealer nods at you, Sentagur as you pull out your stock.
[21:01] * Crichton was wanderinf through the crowd, looking for a fruit stall to buy alittle breakfast before going on to a scheduled meeting in the area.
[21:02] * Cadomedd shuffles along, looking for someone who might look they they would know of wizards, or might give him some cheese to go with the bread.
[21:02] <GM_Tol> Magestar walks alongside with another companion from the shop to deliver the instrument.
[21:02] <GM_Tol> (friend or boss or whatever you want)
[21:02] * Shaddow was a few feet behind Shalkan, though it would be hard to tell they were together, her hazel eyes were sharp, glancing about as she followed along behind him, keeping to the shadows of the stalls and buildings.
[21:03] <Cadomedd> “I need a teacher. Anyone know a teacher?”
[21:03] Sentagur offers the last few herbs to the dealer while he takes in the bustle of the market
[21:05] <Cadomedd> “Anyone know cheese?”
[21:05] * Cadomedd winces a little at the brightness of the uprising sun.
[21:06] Magestar strikes up a conversation, more idle nervous small talk, with his charming companion about the change of weather.
[21:06] <GM_Tol> A small gathering of folks congregates on the north side of the market, just outside the government hall (building A)
[21:06] <Sentagur> (whats the appropriate amount to buy a meal?)
[21:07] <Cadomedd> “Apple?”
[21:08] * Cadomedd repeats the words for 'apple', 'cheese' and 'wizard' in Elvish. Maybe he's speaking the wrong language?
[21:08] <GM_Tol> (roll a history or religion check to ID folks coming out of the Government Building)
[21:08] * Crichton Stops off an a vendor selling apples, buying two of them as he looks out to the Goverment BUilding.
[21:08] <GM_Tol> A couple different small entourages leave the Public Building.

[21:09] * Shaddow came up to Shalkan and whispered “buy three” before she too looked that way.

[21:10] <GM_Tol> Some of you recognize a couple of the groups seem to be Aldermembers exiting the building (like parliament for the region)
[21:10] Magestar glances over at the goings on at the government building briefly.
[21:10] * Cadomedd tried to smile…and somehow makes him look even odder than before.
[21:11] <GM_Tol> Each of you happen to be conductig your walk/business/shopping on the northeast side of the Market.
[21:11] * Crichton passes off two of the three apples to Thai rather smoothly before turning his gaze abck to the Goverment building
[21:11] <GM_Tol> You hear a few in the gathered crowd cheer as a handsome man, one of the Aldermembers, hoists a young girl up, the mother not far behind.
[21:11] Sentagur looks at Cadomedd and smiles “ Maybe you will have better luck finding a teacher on full stomach”
[21:11] * Shaddow takes the apples and walks over to Cadomedd She held one out to him while biting the other as if to prove to him they weren't poisoned or anything.
[21:11] <Cadomedd> “You know where the wizards are?”
[21:12] <GM_Tol> The mother is stunnign in her beauty, and clearly a person of great means.
[21:13] <GM_Tol> The man sets the girl down and shakes a couple hands congratulating him (for something you do not know)
[21:13] Magestar lets his gaze linger for a moment, then realizes his companion might not like that, and turns his eye away in hopes she did not notice the possible slight.
[21:13] * Cadomedd twists his fingers around – trying to balance the need to talk to a living person for answers versus running away screaming down the road.
[21:14] <Shaddow> (did he take the apple or no?)
[21:14] <GM_Tol> Some of the crowd begins to dissipate, and your interest in the scene wanes, when …
[21:14] <GM_Tol> … when suddenly chaos breaks into the world.
[21:14] <GM_Tol> *CRACK!!!*
[21:15] <Cadomedd> (not yet)
[21:15] * Warbudgie looks towards the noise
[21:15] <GM_Tol> A sound pops into the air, which is immediately and immensely disturbed.
[21:15] * Cadomedd stiffens, shaking slightly.
[21:15] <GM_Tol> Several things happen seemingly at once, in incredible pace. (though the DM may take longer to describe them)
[21:15] * Cadomedd snatches the apple and stuffs it in his pocket since no one has said 'don't take it' yet
[21:16] Sentagur looks over to try and figure out what just happened
[21:16] <GM_Tol> Something like a portal appears, as figures step out.
[21:16] Magestar sweeps his lady companion behind him in a gentle yet firm swoosh, in order to guard her from harm.
[21:16] <Cadomedd> “ooh!”
[21:16] * Shaddow jumped slightly at the noise and headed back to her brother. “i didn't cause it!”
[21:17] <GM_Tol> Some folks begin to scatter at the hiddeous and strange appearance of one of the figures. A sense of evil and fear eminates.
[21:17] <Cadomedd> (undead?)
[21:17] * Crichton went on edge with the loud sound and made quick sign towards Thai.
[21:17] <GM_Tol> (not undead looking, but rather evilish, demonic)
[21:17] <Cadomedd> (bah)
[21:18] * Cadomedd 's twisting goes into high gear.
[21:18] * Shaddow gave Shalkan a quick nod, and a sign of her own before she slipped into the shadows.
[21:18] <Sentagur> (so more canadian than undead)
[21:18] <GM_Tol> Four in total seem to have stepped through the portal, as one of the figures moves towards one gathering near the Governmentl Building.
[21:19] <Cadomedd> “What should I do? What should I do?”
[21:19] <GM_Tol> With an action hard to discern, he swipes at a human man and removes his head.
[21:19] * Cadomedd looks around for some sort of cue.
[21:19] <Cadomedd> “Oh!”
[21:19] <Crichton> ( is assuming we'll be told when we can act )
[21:20] <GM_Tol> More folks scatter. The previously noted mother and her young daughter flee randomly in your direction, along with the father Aldermember.
[21:20] Sentagur opens his eyes wide in horror
[21:20] <GM_Tol> (You can state an action as you like)
[21:20] * Cadomedd doesn't know exactly what to do, but something in his head tells him that the girl need protection.
[21:21] * Cadomedd looks around at anything that might harm the girl.
[21:21] <Sentagur> (are the evil ones targeting anyone or just randomly decapitating people?)
[21:22] <GM_Tol> A large figure with chains around his body moves toward the mother, as his companion kills guard that runs at him.
[21:22] * Shaddow kept an eye out from a corner, and drew her short bow, though she kept it hidden behind her cloak.

[21:22] * Crichton hates himself at the moment as he steps forward and yells to the mother and daughter running his way. “Behind me now! Kepe running! Dont look back” AS he moveforward his raiper is slowly drawn. as he mutters in clear elven. “Not in my city”

[21:24] * Karyndel holds onto her mother and stands her ground.

[21:24] Sentagur readies his Quarterstaff
[21:25] * Warbudgie grunts in displeasure,but runs towards the scene anyways
[21:25] * Shaddow raised her bow and took aim at the things going after the mother and daughter.
[21:25] <GM_Tol> The family of three stop at the corner shop, as the father (Aldermember) turns to protect the mother and child.

[21:26] <GM_Tol> One of the assailants moves with incredible speed towards the Aldermember, moveing from the side.

[21:27] <GM_Tol> A shopkeeper falls dead, as Magestar’s companion suddenly finds herself in the way. A clawlike talon guts her as she falls dead.

[21:27] <GM_Tol> The larger figure with chains makes it towards the AlderMember.

[21:28] <GM_Tol> Karyndel feels shoved out of the way as her mother lashes out at the large figure with chains near. A chain severs the head of your mother.

[21:29] Magestar reaches down to swipe up some sand on the street and casts a sleep spell upon the one that just gutted his companion.

[21:33] Ryu draws his blade and motions for his retainers to stay back, as he brings his shield to bare, beating his blade against his shield he moves forward.

[21:33] * Karyndel gets up from her killed mother and runs to try and grab the girl.

[21:45] <GM_Tol> You see 40ft of dim light, illuminating just yourself, but everything beyond that is black.
[21:45] <GM_Tol> Sentagur you feel nothing solid.
[21:46] Magestar peers into the darkness as well.

[21:46] * Crichton calles out in a bit of worry “Sister!” as he floats there, griping his rapier tightly in hand

[21:46] * Shaddow reached out for her brother as she floated about “i'm here brother! somewhere.”

[22:03] <GM_Tol> A small girl’s sobbing continues from time to time, as time uncertain slips on.
[22:04] <Crichton> “Everything dies. You must simply know thr right method.”
[22:04] <Cadomedd> “Spell resistant, too…I think…I lashed out with the only hurting spell my parents let me learn. Did nothing…I think.”
[22:04] <Cadomedd> “Girl? Can you see this light? Can you hear my voice?”
[22:04] <Magestar> “My spells were ineffective as well.”
[22:04] <Cadomedd> (ooh! Found my old outline for tyro's novel)
[22:06] <GM_Tol> Hours pass by, or perhaps minutes.
[22:07] * Cadomedd tries to kick out and maybe more forward
[22:07] Ryu fumbles around trying to find his retainers and anybody else that may be there, “Cadby? Garrick? Ferrah?”

[22:09] <GM_Tol> After a moment, you are blinded with white light.
[22:09] <Shaddow> “now?” The word was barely out of her mouth before she had to shut her eyes from the light.
[22:09] * Cadomedd closes his eyes and covers his face
[22:10] Sentagur uses his hands to cover his eyes
[22:10] * Crichton is cussing in elvish now in such a manor that a sailor might be impressed. Also coverd his eyes with his free hand, rapier still gripped firmly
[22:10] <GM_Tol> After a moment of adjustment, you see a small circle of light in the distance. You see a small girl lying on the ground in front of the circle of light.
[22:11] * Warbudgie starts moving towards the light
[22:11] <GM_Tol> Warbudgie you move towards the light, seemingly walking, though you’re still not sure your feet are on any ground.
[22:12] * Crichton looks around after the adjust ment to see if he can spot the others, aside form the little girl
[22:12] Sentagur sees Warbudgie moving and then tries to do the same
[22:12] * Cadomedd understands Shalkan, but is not impressed. He tries to haul himself towards the light.
[22:12] * Shaddow would begin moving towards her brother as soon as she can see again. “you know brother, you should learn to check that mouth of yours.”
[22:12] <GM_Tol> Noone sees anyone else in the group, just the light, and the girl lying in front of it.
[22:13] <Cadomedd> “Girl! Are you well?”
[22:13] <Shaddow> (well nix my movement then)
[22:13] Magestar also understands and is unflattered by the language, as he tries to adjust to this assault on his senses.
[22:13] <GM_Tol> You each in turn move towards the light. As you do, you hear voices “outside”, seemingly through the light.
[22:14] <Crichton> “Sister! Do you see that crying girl?”
[22:14] <Shaddow> “she's the only person i can see, i can't even see you”
[22:14] <GM_Tol> You still hear one another as if each in teh distance.
[22:14] <GM_Tol> Voice from the light: “Bring her out.”
[22:14] <Cadomedd> “Wait!”
[22:14] <Cadomedd> “We're here, too!”
[22:15] <GM_Tol> You see an arm reach through the light and drag the girl out. She disappears through the light.
[22:15] <Crichton> ( could I do an insight for their intent on the girl? )
[22:16] <Magestar> (Banjos play in the background.)
[22:16] <GM_Tol> Voice: “No, do not kill her. Put her in the chains.”
[22:16] <Cadomedd> “What? NO!”

[22:17] <GM_Tol> As you move closer to the light, you begin to bump into each other, shocked that you move shoulder to shoulder given that your voices seemed to distant.

[22:18] * Cadomedd swats randomly. PEOPLE TOUCHING ME! PEOPLE TOUCHING ME!

[22:18] <GM_Tol> Your voices still sound distant, even as you begin to see each other. Cadomedd’s light illumines you, though faintly.
[22:19] <Crichton> “This is getting tiresome.”
[22:19] <GM_Tol> You reach the light; it is a 3ft diameter oval.
[22:19] * Crichton tries to manuver to be closer or next to his sister, rapier still in hand

[22:20] <Shaddow> “Alright, who's gonna go through first?”
[22:20] * Cadomedd takes a coin and flips it towards the light
[22:21] <Magestar> “Not I.”

[22:21] <Cadomedd> (does it come out the other side, or get sucked up?)
[22:21] <GM_Tol> You hear it clink onto stone on the other side of the light, though it is difficult to see ‘through’ the light

[22:22] <Crichton> “I will concider what is on the other side hostile until proven other wise.”
[22:22] <GM_Tol> You no longer hear any voices from outside the light.
[22:23] <Shaddow> “that's your natural state when getting out of bed in the morning.”

[22:24] <GM_Tol> In the room is refuse in one corner, broken glass in another. A trunk is against a wall and a set of 3 chairs, rather fancy, is against another wall.

[22:26] Sentagur looks around for any sign of the girl
[22:26] * Karyndel jumps through the light.
[22:27] <GM_Tol> After a moment, the light seems to begin getting smaller.
[22:28] <GM_Tol> From the room side, you see a portal into darkness, and it is getting smaller for sure.
[22:28] * Cadomedd points to Thia.
[22:28] <Cadomedd> “Apple girl!”
[22:28] * Crichton motions to the chest to the side “If you would be so kind?” Whatever he was saying was probably ment to his sister “Might be something useful there.”
[22:28] * Cadomedd fishes in his pockets and pulls out the apple
[22:28] Magestar steps through the light.

[22:29] * Shaddow arched a brow at the moniker, but smiled when he produced the apple “hello zombie boy” She turned then to her brother and pulled out her theif's tools “these?”
[22:29] * Crichton nods with smile bfore looing around the room to get a better idea of where they had landed.

[22:31] * Karyndel is a sweet elven lady with strength in her eyes, and a green cloak.
[22:31] * Cadomedd is small, barely looking old enough to be away from this mother's skirts for any length of time. Skin, bones and dirty tattered clothing – he's faceless among the throngs of street rats in any large city.
[22:32] * Cadomedd eats half the apple in big bites, then holds out the other half for Thia.
[22:32] * Warbudgie is a large dragonborn with very simple clothes, and a very large greataxe
[22:32] * Shaddow stands roughly 5'6, and her hair, though hidden by her cloak, is a copper color that matches her brother's hair. Her hazel eyes and bronze skin match his as well. She was dressed in all black, with a short bow currently hung visible from her right shoulder.
[22:33] * Crichton is wood elf, stand 6ft even with copper colored hair, brozish skin tone and hazel eyes. He mostly wears darker clothing with a hood around his head and bears a resimblance to Thia. Rapier is held in his hand as he looks around. A bow on his back as well as a dagger ar his side and an empty small sheath
[22:34] Magestar is a 1/2 elf of average height and slightly heavier build, likely from living a comfortable life. He has sapphire eyes and lightly tanned skin, with a head of dirty blond hair. He is under equipped for this situation however and wears leather armor over fine clothes, and has a few scroll cases and a viol.
[22:34] * Shaddow paused in her work a moment and took the half apple “thank you” she smiled and munched on it as she went back to trying to get the chests opened.
[22:35] Sentagur is a middle aged man in well worn but clean peasant garb
[22:35] * Cadomedd looks at the dragonborn…his jaw drops and little chunks of apple splat on the floor.
[22:36] Ryu is a human male, in his late 20s, short black hair, and brilliant blue eyes, carrying a heavy shield on his right arm embossed with the sign of Pelor, and a Long Sword in his left, his chain armor clinks as he moves.

[22:36] * Crichton looks at Cadomedd “Careful lad, you'll face will stick that way.”
