Session Log, 4-20-2018
The weather is warm, and the sun bright. Groups of people are bustling about in the lands you all hail from. Some of you in the wilderness, others of the city watch; and, yet others pursing dirty deeds. Its just another day in the world. People going about their daily lives, trying to survive in an ever chaotic world. Suddenly, without any warning or provocation, a new sensation strikes each of you. Your gut wrenches, your limbs bound by some unseen force, and a voice rips through your mind. “Come, my chosen. The time is now. You must awaken my chosen allies from their slumber. Quickly, you must find the Mother,” your vision goes dark. The air around you grows chilly, as all of you crash hard onto the stone ground. GM: Your vision returns, your limbs free from their bondage. The sun now fading, and the terrain unknown. You find yourself in what once could be called a cave, that has no been blasted apart. the voice comes again into your mind, much gentler, almost pleading, “Welcome to Gaia, my chosen children.” DM-Ryu: Alright, you're all up. I don't have a pretty picture to show… DM-Ryu: go on ahead and describe yourselves, you all three have just been thrusted into an unknown world and found yourselves among strangers. Vargach: Gaia, huh? Never been here before! Wonder what this Mother thing is……Oh hi! Vargach: looks at all the people Vargach: proceeds to sniff all the people Aurora: blinks a few times gazing around curiously for the voice that seems to have drawn her to this strange place. The tall slender grey and white catlady would try to rise to her feet, perhaps a bit too quickly and take a half balanced step looking to see the other voices. “What exactly be this 'Gaia'…And who be you?” She glanced down to the thing that happened to be sniffing at her. Dollyn: eyes the rather strange creatures for a moment, shield raised abit defensivly though his spear is held behind him, mostly out of sight. The Half-Elf looks at both of you with a pair of mismatched eyes, one sky blue, the other a deep purple. “i'll assume Gaia is where we are now.” afan21 (Vargach): Vargach looks like what happens when a simple lizard grows 5 feet and decides to walk on two feet and wear clothes Vargach: Me? I am called Vargach! What do I call you? Vargach: peers into the half-elf's eyes, mere inches away Vargach: Your eyes are different colors! Dollyn: Seems to be a little weary of the lizard person in his presence, but he hasnt been attacked yet. “Dollyn” GM: can I actually get a nature check from all of you (after your introductions) Aurora: would give a slow nod. “This place do be a bit…different feeling than the home I know.” She would rest her paw on the hilt of her rapier at her hip, making sure it was still there. “I be Aurora, a Tabaxi of the High Mountains. Pleasure to meet the both of you…But who be this other voice?” She took a more keen look about the area as she stood there. Vargach: [SKILL] Nature [1d20 = 13] Crichton (Dollyn): ha! I have that one Aurora: [SKILL] Nature [1d20+3 = 20] Dollyn: [SKILL] Nature [PROF] [1d20+3 = 18] As each of you in turn glance around and talk to eachother, something catches your eye. The stone walls of the cave are of a material you've never seen, the flora, again is of an unknown species. The fading sun looks much older than that of your used to. You all beging to realize, you've not only been transported to a new location, but maybe, just maybe, a whole new planet. GM: **begin not beging lol Aurora: Well toto, i think we arent in Kansas anymore… GM: Perception checks please Vargach: [SKILL] Perception [PROF] [1d20+6 = 20] Aurora: [SKILL] Perception [PROF x2] [1d20+5 = 22] Dollyn: I'm not sure where a Kansas is but I agree. We're not where we once were Dollyn: [SKILL] Perception [PROF] [1d20+3 = 22] DM-Ryu: Nice rolls Aurora: <see…humping the dice bot is always important> Crichton (Dollyn): now we're all gonna rolls 1s GM: You all notice a girl in her early 30s peering around a corner watching you all suspiciously, “HEY! You're not s'po…” she notices that both Vargach and Aurora, “DA!” she runs off. Vargach: ….Da? What is Da? Vargach: chases after her Aurora: takes close notice of the strangeness of the nature of this 'world before spotting the woman. “Oh dearie, you be not getting away that easy…Why did you bring us here?” She would give chase Dollyn: “Oh for fucks sake….Don't cha…Miss wait! Dont Run!” and he gives chase after everyone. “We're Lost,..please!” Crichton (Dollyn): can I roll persuasion? DM-Ryu: no need. GM: You pursue the young woman, for about 100 or so yards, before you see a man, a strange weapon in his hands, a sleek metal barrel, a wooden part resting against his shoulder, “Hold it right there, Gaia-Touched, move another step, and I'll pump you full of lead!” The weapon looks extremely old, but well maintained. Vargach: Gaia touched? I don't understand. Too many new words! And what's THAT?! The young woman stands behind him and off to the side. Aurora: would halt when presented with athe threat, giving a bit of a glare to the man and resting her paw back on her hilt. “I do no mean harm to the girl. I just be looking for some answers as to why we be here…and be being watched from the corners. “You, Turian, you are Gaia-Touched, and that Purian too… Oh, there is a Elzen as well… That explains much. What where you all doing in Dragonshead?! That is sacred ground!” Vargach: More new words! What are their meanings? Dollyn: Sticks the spear away, trying t show he's not a threat at least. The shield remained out though. “Thats a question we'd like to know too. We're not from here mister.” Aurora: I do believe we awoke here to a strange womans voice…If this do be sacred ground, why do you be here as well? GM: “Not from here you say, not even in pilgrim garb, and defiling the sacred Dragonshead. Actually… ” he stops and thinks for a moment, before letting his aim down, “How did you get in there… The World Mother stops all who try to enter…” Vargach: Oh,we're supposed to find a mother! The voice told us! Dollyn: “I was at a tavern, drinking. Things went black. I heard a voice and then, I ended up back there in the…Dragonshead? He chuckles, “There are several mothers. The World Mother for one, you walk upon her, but you should know that, for her name is Gaia. Then there is the Mother of Dragons, who's sanctuary you where defiling.” Dollyn: “Not bu choice I promiss you that.” Aurora: Aye, something about finding the mother was mentioned in my head as well…I was out on the hunt before awkaing here…No clue how I did wake yup here. I will say, looking about, this is not a place i have ever been, and I do liek to be getting everywhere abouts. GM: “Kit, go let Lady Kitsumi know we have visitors,” he speaks to the woman behind him, then looks back at you all, “Come, anything funny and I'll put you down, his eyes linger the longest on Dollyn, “Damn, and Elzen… This may be bad,” he whispers to himself. Aurora: would relax a bit and dip her head. “I do be sorry if I did frighten you miss. Kit Berry: “Right away Da!” she runs off towards a village in the distance. Vargach: I don't do funny, I'm bad at jokes. I knew a bard once in…well,he's….er,not with us anymore. GM: “My name is Dan Berry, I maintain these grounds at the request of the Lady. You are the first to have ever stepped into the Dragonshead site without being thrown out by the very ground itself. Come, I'll take you to Terra and to Lady Kitsumi herself.” Aurora: would blink at the man curiously, as cats often do. “I be called Aurora. What be a Elzen…and those other strange words? Turian and Purian?” Dan Berry turns and walks towards the city, his weapon sitting on his shoulder. Dollyn: “There's that word again, Elzen…. what are they? I'm Sar,…er Dollyn. Just Dollyn.” A look at his armor suggest maybe he was apart of a guard or something Vargach: sniffs Dan Vargach: You never told me what that thing is! Dan Berry: “An Elzen, is that one there,” he points at Dollyn,” a disgrace to the World Mother, but that was many generations ago, You are a Purian, a noble catperson, rare in these parts, as is the Turian,” he nods towards Vargach, ” a swamp herder.” Vargach: peers intently at the weapon Vargach: Swamp herder? Don't be silly, you can't herd swamps! Vargach: They don't move! Zionia (Aurora): XD lawl Dan Berry: “This old thing? It's a shotgun, a relic from before the Send off, do you not know your history?” Vargach: I don't know where I am, how would I? Dollyn: “Then I guess I would be a Half-Elzen. My mother was a human,..and no, we don't. Like we have said,..we're not from here.” Dollyn: “Inf act I'm from a place called the Sword Cost.” Crichton (Dollyn): Coast He glances at Dollyn, “We're all human my boy, The Gaia-Touched, save for the Elzen, where changed by the World Mother to fit specific needs. To bring balance back to a land full of chaos, except for the Elzen, they're remants that chose to hide underground after the send off.” Aurora: grins and flicks her tail a bit. “Hmmm Noble Cat-person…I like the ring of it.” She glances over the shotgun. “I have never seen such a contraption as that…This place feels quite far from my home. I also do not recall an event such as tthe Send-Off…but…It do peak my curiosity…I do be a bit of a scholar…” Vargach: I also like learning new things! Dan Berry: “The Sword Coast, sorry, no idea where that would be,” he glances up as you start to enter the village.“ (Incoming picture, ignore the samurai on the horse but this is pretty much what you see) Dan Berry: (Yes, including the vehicle) The few people milling about the entrance to the village look you all over, their eyes lingering on Dollyn for a moment, but then pay little more mind and go about their business. Dollyn: “That, sounds like Drow from where I'm from.” Dan Berry: “Well Elzen are not well liked, in all their forms, but some have been trying to change for the better these past few generations, and have stopped relying some much on their technology,” he waves you foward, to a temple like structure in the distance, “We're almost there.” Dollyn: Is already getting the feeling he'll be stared at quiet abit from what Dan has said so far. So he's resigned himself to ignore the stares unless they linger. Aurora: 's eye go wide as she rummages for her notebook to begin taking notes. “Now…this is all quite bizzare…Why would you cut all the limbs from trees to tie ropes between them? And what is that heap of metal? Ive never seen so much in one place aside from the scrap pile of a forge…” Theres several rusted vehicles about on the road, and some fireless lights glowing in homes. Vargach: is overwhelmed with new things, and is darting from one thing to the next as fast as possible to study it,occasionally going back to previous things Vargach: and is absolutely looking in windows at the fireless lights Dan Berry: He glares at Aurora for a moment, “Those are power poles, they provide, Lectircs, to our lights, and help keep our homes warm of a winter, the heap of metal is a car… ” He sighs, “You all really are not from here are you?” Dollyn: Will keep his focus and keep marching forward, shield still on his arm. “How much more convincing do you need of that?” Aurora: would shake her head mummbling softly to herself as she jots down notes as quickly as she could. Vargach: Oh wow, look! Light without fire! And….this….thing! You say it is a car? Not some manner of beast? Dan Berry: “Well, you can only feign ignorance for so long. Lady Kitsumi well tell us all, and if it be so, fill you in on our history.” Aurora: No Sir…The sun does not even look the same… GM: Dan guides you to the entrance of the temple, in which two massive Dragonesque statues guard the door, beside them, armed guards, with blades and more unknown weapons stand, “Its alright,” he holds his hand up as one of the guards approach, “They need to see Lady Kitsumi and she needs to hear their words.” Kit Berry: “Da! Lady Kitsumi is waiting for the Not-Pilgrims, She said the World Mother told her they where coming.” Kit Berry Eyes all of you suspiciously. Dollyn: Continues to watch with his mismatched eyes, studying everything he could with a trained eye. “Nice to know someone's expecting us atleast.” said dryly Vargach: sniffs the girl,as he never got a chance to earlier Aurora: follows about sketching the strange items they came across. More would need to be looked into later, but this would surely please the elders to see such strange new oddities to add to the records. She would finally look up as she heard the girl's voice once more. “Ahh, good good. You do be having some sharp eyes there Miss Kit. Do take care not to stab anything with them. It tends to make them sore. Dollyn: Takes a moment to disarm the shield at this point, slipping it to a spot on his backpack now. Lady Kitsumi: Dan and Kit lead you into the temple, kneeling in front of you, a good 100 feet away, is two young women, praying to another large dragon statue, the eldest of the two stands and looks back at you, “I see, so you're the Gaia-Touched that the World Mother has guided to me, It is a pleasure to meet you, Purian Scholar, Aurora; Turian Traveler, Vargach; and Half-Elf Dollyn of the City Watch; I am Kitsumi Saya, the Mother of Dragons, head of this temple.” Vargach: immediately goes up and sniffs Kitsumi Vargach: HI! Aurora: would pause and give a dip of her head to Kitsumi. “It do be a pleasure Mistress Kitsumi Saya. I suppose you would be aware of why we suddenly do be here, no? Lady Kitsumi: “I am keenly aware of why you are here,” she looks at Vargach, “If you value your life, Iw ould not suggest you sniff my daughter, he father will gut you, like he did to those creatures that assaulted me while pregnant with her in Dragonshead.” Vargach: ….But how will I know her scent? Lady Kitsumi: “You could always ask her to off you a piece of cloth, as is common with your kind.” Lady Kitsumi: off = for Vargach: sighs Vargach: Oh,I suppose Vargach: Turns to the other lady Lady Kitsumi: “Before we get to why you are here, I feel you have questions, and I may have answers, but first, this is my daughter, Jade Saya, the Daughter of Dragons herself.” Vargach: Do you have some cloth? Dollyn: Raised a brow when she mentione dhis actually heritage, that of a half-elf and gave a small bow of his head. A quick glance to see if the other natives to this place noted that as well. Jade Saya: stands slowly and turns with a gentle bow, “I am Jade,” she smiles brightly, a gem encrested dragon necklaces hangs about her neck, the gem rapidly changeing color, she glances at Vargach as she seems to pet the dragon on the necklace, “Umm, one moment,” she rifles through the pouch around her hip, and pulls a piece of cloth and wipes her face with it before handing it to Vargach, “Will that suffice for you, Mister?” Vargach: sniffs it Vargach: Yes,yes, thank you and all that Jade Saya She smiles sweetly at you, as a blue jay flies in from an open window and lands on her shoulder. Aurora: would in turn give a bow to Jade Saya. “Tis a pleasure, young miss.” She took in every detail she could of the pair of them, noting the rather intriiguing gem. She did seem to be fighting back asking one of the hundreds of questions going through her mind at the moment, but respected the request of the Mother. Vargach: Peers at the gem Lady Kitsumi: “Jade, why don't you go and spend some time with Kit while I talk to these travellers.” Vargach: Oooh,it changes! Jade Saya “OK,” she smiles and gives a happy little jump, “Excuse me!” she darts out the door. Vargach: Oh,she left. Lady Kitsumi: “There is much to discuss, and some is best left to not fall on her ears yet.” Vargach: 's eyes dart around the room, taking in all the new sights Around the room you see several of the fireless lights, some so bright that they feel they will burn your eyes if you peer into them too long. Lady Kitsumi: “So, you three are the chosen by Gaia. I was hoping there would be more, but she did say that more may come.” Dollyn: Gave anoher nod, he could respect that. “what does that mean though? To be chosen. Maybe a history lession is in order first. it could answer many questions we have.” Vargach: Yes, like that sending thing,I don't know anything about that! Aurora: would nod, taking note of how many ears were in the room, and gaze curiously at the orbs of light. “Aye, I do believe some wisdom should be shared as to what is going on here…none of the answers can be with us if we know nothing of how this came to be…” Lady Kitsumi: “Well, our world is much different than where you came from. Once great cities ruled the landscape, tens of billions of humans, causing destruction, ravaging the lands, and killing the World Mother.” Lady Kitsumi: “Then about 1300 years ago, the World Mother summoned allies to help her cleanse herself of the Human Plague that was killing her, but she is just, and did not want them killed needlessly, as she could sense that some saught after peace, and wanted to live in harmony with the her.” Lady Kitsumi: “These allies, at one point, before we knew better, we called them Beasts, but they where really the Great Dragons from legends past. They came, and followed Gaia's decision. She announced her Ultimatium.” Lady Kitsumi: “They where given the choice, to change their ways, to stop the needless blood shed, the great bombing wars, and glutten hunger for power, and live peacefully, and the symbotic relationship that it was supposed to be, or to leave.” Lady Kitsumi: “They where given the choice, to change their ways, to stop the needless blood shed, the great bombing wars, and glutten hunger for power, and live peacefully, and the symbotic relationship that it was supposed to be, or to leave.” Lady Kitsumi: “At the time, Humans, they where already traveling the stars, they had the knowledge, but instead of spreading they decided that there was no place to go, and continued to destroy. So the Dragons went forth, only about 5% of the human population at the time decided peach was the way to go.” Aurora: <gah sorry…was trying to copy junk> afan21 (Vargach): peach, not strawberry? Lady Kitsumi: “Billions died in the war that they tried to fight with the dragons, but they couldn't win, so they decided to leave on great ships and set out for the stars, leaving some behind that weren't privledged enough. Those became the Elzen.” Aurora: scribblescribblescribble “Im going to need a bigger notebook…” Lady Kitsumi: “The Enteri, the ones that left, still travel the stars, and that is why you have been summoned here.” Vargach: I can't fly to the stars! No wings. Lady Kitsumi: She laughs quietly, “You do not need to fly my Turian friend.” Dollyn: “They're returning arent they?” Lady Kitsumi: She looks at Dollyn, “They are, and the dragons, have not woken.” Vargach: Oh,good. Because I can't. Dollyn: “The biggest question I think would be,..why us then? I'm not sure about the other two, but I come from a place with magic,..not this technology.” Dollyn: he motioned to one of the fireless lights Aurora: glances up over her notebook as she continues scribbling. “So…I assume we are to either fend of fthe returning ones, or find a way to awaken these sleeping dragons?” She nodded in agreement with Dollyn.. “Aye, I have never seen this technology myself…it is facinating, though I suppose you could say it do be a form of magic in itself. Lady Kitsumi: “I am called the Mother of Dragons, for that while pregnant with my Daughter, who was a fatherless birth, I was attacked by an early party of the Enteri, and a dragon appeared to protect me, and a bargin was struck between Gaia, Myself, and the Lord Dragon, A party not of this land, worthy of the deed, shall be summoned and set forth, to wake the dragons from the slumber. For you see, we have all been living in peace for the most part, and do not know how to adventure, how to find hidden things in the recesses of the world.” Lady Kitsumi: “We too have magic, but we also have technology that was left behind, although we do not know how to use most of it.” Vargach: I experienced magic too….but also things similar to this….technology, you call it? Like in Halruaa, they have flying ships! Vargach: Shame I can't go back there…. Aurora: would nod with a curious look in her eye. “That does make sense…but how could so few be of assistance…the world is no small place…” Vargach: scoffs at this Vargach: Bah! Don't think like that! Even one person can change the world! Lady Kitsumi: “Gaia will point you in the right direction soon, but for now rest. Tomorrow I will answer your questions, and hear your decision if you would like to help us. If not, Gaia has agreed to send you home.” Vargach: Ok, I am pretty tired. Dollyn: Glanced at the others for a moement before nodding. “This is all alot to take in, rest would be good I think” Vargach: Curls up on the ground Lady Kitsumi She laughs at Vargach once again. Lady Kitsumi: “Mister Vargach, a bed will be provided, there is no need to sleep on the hard ground.” Aurora: Aye,I do be in agrement…My head is spinning so much I do no know which question to ask first…some rest would be greatly appreciated at this time. Vargach: But I'm alre-Oh fine, if you must. Lady Kitsumi: She glances at Aurora, before pulling out a picture and handing it to her, “I feel, you may like this, this is a picture of one of the Enteri fleets we found.” DM-Ryu: I'm ganking pictures of things that I feel would fit… lol Lady Kitsumi: “Dan, would you be so kind as to show our guest to the Inn, tell Mr. Johns, that it is for me and he will allow them stay at no charge.” Dan Berry: “Yes Lady Kitsumi, it will be done as soon as they're ready,” he looks over you all. Aurora: would give a soft snicker to Vargach. “You do be an interesting fellow.” She turned and took up hold of the picture to examine it. “Ahh, this view is amazing…These…'ships'…they seem so massive and abundant…This do seem to be quite a task dear. Though I would no be in the mind to let any harm come to the earth mother, even of another world…I will think hard on what you are tasking us with.” She would give a deep bow before turning to follow John. DM-Ryu: Dan is here John is the Inn keep Aurora: or dan… Lady Kitsumi: “Remember, several billions fled on those ships, they are quiet large.” Dollyn: “Sounds good to me. Especially the free part since I doubt what we have will pay for anything. I'm ready when everyone else is.” Lady Kitsumi: “Precious Metals are a common trade in these parts.” As you all prepare to leave for the night, this introduction session comes to a close. (Sorry gotta be up stupid early)
